Seth Rogen and Zac Efron are now attached to star in an untitled comedy scripted by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien (producers on Funny People). The writers sold the R-rated pitch — described as similar in tone to Old School — to Universal tonight following a bidding war.

According to Deadline, Rogen will play “a regular guy who lives near an alpha male fraternity house.” Efron will play “a member of the fraternity, whose raucous behavior wreaks havoc on the other guy’s family life.”

  • Yeah, a comedy! And paired with a comedy star who can carry a lot of the weight on this movie. And R rated. Now, how they gonna fit this one into the schedule?

  • Sounds interesting! I have to wonder if he’s going to play the uber-snobby, bourgeoisie frat boy or the down-to-earth, tail-wagging frat boy
    (they do exist.)
Either way, he’s going to have to get the male bimbo part down pat. As most fraternities require little more than a 3.0 to rush, the “brothers’” are often not the brightest crayons in the box (although the nice ones are incredibly charming.)
I imagine his character will lie every time he opens his mouth, play lots of sports, and take communal showers with the rest of the bros (yeah!!)
The more I think about it, the more I can’t wait to see this!
