I think you have to count 17 Again as his first romantic comedy. It's just that the romance was with his wife, while Zac was trapped in a 17-year-old body.

It sucks how most of Zac's good movies (besides The Paperboy, Liberal Arts, and At Any Price) are all in pre-production or development.
