A raunchy comedy will help, but he really needs to do a sci-fi thriller or a heavy-action cop movie. Unfortunately, he prefers parts that are "genuine" and deal with the human condition. Yuk.

He's playing a college fraternity guy, so he's bound to have a cheerleader girlfriend; but it shouldn't be an important part of the plot because that's not what this movie is about.

what is the conflict?

The script hasn't been finished, but this is a "town and gown" story. The conflict is between college fraternity members and the Seth Rogen character, a homeowner near the campus (maybe next door to the fraternity house?). People who live in the community around a university are known as "townies".

We were talking about building a male audience. Movies about real life situations don't pull the male audiece the way that Transformers or Avengers do.

Here's a snip from the announcement last year:

'Rogen plays a regular guy who lives near an alpha male fraternity house. Efron is a member of the fraternity, whose raucous behavior wreaks havoc on the other guy's family life."
