in the book, jack(zac) is narrating the first part. hopefully, they will do it in the movie

Jack doesn't narrate it exactly. The story is told from Jack's point of view. Its not like in the beginning of the Notebook where the old man is reading the lady the story; its not like that. The paperboy is told from Jack's point of view.
