This was the most unrealistic scene in 17 Again. In reality, Stan wouldn't have just stood there while Mike spouts verbal abuse; Stan would have stepped forward and punched Mike out after the first few words.

Deleted scenes don't count. Stan beats up Mike twice in this movie, and he would have done the same in the cafeteria scene, but that would have prevented all the comedy. They should have had a teacher or security guard standing nearby, so there would have been a reasonable excuse for Stan not to start a fight and just accept the verbal abuse. (But in the next scene, when Mike is opening the refrigerator, he should have had a big black eye because Stan would have been waiting for him in the parking lot.)

Why are we talking about the middle finger? And no, it's really not that bad. I don't undertand why people find it so offensive.
