A year for sure, since they don't film until September and post-production usually takes many months. I expect release in Autumn 2013. It's not really a summer-type movie.
I don't know about a "summer type movie" I mean People Like Us was just released the same weekend as Magic Mike, and "People Like Us" isn't your typical blockbuster. At least TIWILY is a comedy/drama, so it could do pretty well along other summer blockbuster type of movies. I mean Ted is doing really well considering it's a comedy in the midst of other action or blockbuster movies.

Sure, any kind of movie can be released anytime. The marketing types think about "counter-programming" to offer something different for all the people who don't want to see a noisy, hyperactive summer blockbuster. I'm just saying that TIWILY is an "indoor" type of story with a lot of dialog, not the kind of thing to pack in the teens and young-adult males who drive the summer box office.
