To be honest, I don't care for American Idol so I really don't know a whole lot about him. But you hit the nail square on the head. He seems to be a "gotta keep myself realavent and I had dinner with Zac so I'll mention his name." I hate to use the term but he's like an attention wh0re.

And judging by the article, he liked the Idol winner so why not take that one step further and say that he wants Zac out there with him. I don't even like generalizing that but I'm sure others have thought the same.
