Okay, so I have read some interesting posts lately about whether Zac and Vanessa are dating or not. So, let's get together and have ourselves a little debate. Debates/discussions are a good thing as long as all involved can respect opposing sides and their views.

All views are welcome on both sides; HOWEVER, if you are going to post here, you will:


Be respectful of other's opinions. Though we may not agree, we will be civil towards one another.
Posts/arguments should be cogent and logical, not 'because he or she is dating me.' Take this seriously.
Treat this thread as though you were sitting at Kathryn or another person's table. RESPECT is the tone of the day.

So, if we can agree to these simple rules, let the discussion begin.

Oh, if this does degenerate into a pissing match, I will ask that it be deleted. This is a chance for both sides to come together and have a healthy discussion, don't go down the dark path of name calling, back biting or being rude to your fellow forum posters.

Because so many on here have differing opinions on this subject and this seems to be as good a time as any. Most other threads start to degenerate into this anyways, so why not have a proper forum for this discussion.

Some find it important, others don't. That's fine. As long as we keep respect and maintain boundaries then discussion of a topic is a good thing.

I'm with you.

But there are those who don't believe it and have been bashed for it. Their voices have been stifled by a majority of forum users and we all should respect each other's views.

This may be against the rules, but we discuss this as a community on a daily basis. Be it through a quip in a picture thread or a signature or a quick comment in some other thread, we all discuss this issue, therefore we have all already broken the rules.

We need to allow all sides to voice their opinions on the matter and let each do so in a respectful way. Both sides should be allowed to freely express how they feel, even if it doesn't impact our everyday lives.

Though I may be firmly in the 'Zac and Vanessa are dating' camp, that doesn't mean I should instantaneously disregard what someone else believes or thinks. There is genuine interest on both sides. We may see the same tired arguments brought up time and time again, but anyone who chooses to voice an opinion and be brave enough to commit it to writing, deserves not only the right to be heard, but also the right to be respected for that opinion. That is all predicated on the basis that they in turn respect those of the opposite opinion.

So I see no reason as to why we cannot act as young adults and have a civil discussion that so many seem to have great interest in.

I honestly think they're dating. And I'm sure they love each other very much, etc. etc.
I'm just pretty sure they won't last.
they're both young, no one finds the person they spend the rest of their lives with at 17/18.

I hope Z&V do stay together, they come across as a lovely couple. The only people who will enjoy it if they don't is the gutter press who will fill column inches at their expense.

Both have to be ambitious and would want successful careers so it depends on where their careers go and if a relationship can survive long periods of separation (for filming & promotion).

The movie industry is a fickly profession, and any relationship is not helped by trash mags/papers writing untruths or half truths about it, or the paparazzi following a couple around wanting any kind of photo they can get to sell for the highest price.

They are together definately. You can't deny it. They seem happy together... but whether it will last I'm not sure. Just my opinion but all these rumours going round could put pressure on any relationship. And they are still young... they are still growing up and with that people change. I really hope they go the distance.

I've read some say that pictures don't count and we can't base anything on pictures. Well, as a historian that's what we do. Photography has been around since around the mid 1800s and we still anylise them. We have to take pictures and their actions into account. Not to mention that as of recently it's been pretty much confirmed by both of them.

They constantly go on vacations (private vacations away from any paparazzi)
They make-out in the water
They hold hands
They own commitment rings
They arrive as each others date for almost every event they go to
they sleep over each others houses
they share hotel rooms
they smile giddily whenever somebody mentions the others name
They look at each other constantly in interviews
they have dry sex on the beach

How Can Anybody say they are not a couple!

They are still together in my opinion. I just think it looks as though they aren't because they have been apart a lot recently from work commitments. And there haven't been many candids of Zac lately, except going in and out of the airport. They could be together during then.. We never know, right?

I understand why people say that pictures don't count. Remember that show on E! called "Pop Fiction?" Where celebrities would sort of "punk" paps by doing strange stuff?

BUT in this case, I do believe the pictures. Especially the ones where they aren't aware of the paparazzi?. Straddling on the beach is a big one, that one candid when they filmed hsm 3 where you can only see their backs? And the fact that they just went to Japan says a lot.

But for people who believe their just friends, just think of that recent Ashely Tisdale interview. When asked whether or not they were in love, she said "yeah they totally are, 3 going on 4 years." Or something to that effect.

If they weren't dating I don't think their best friends would go around saying they were.
