Ok this is a POSITIVE message so please dont hate. With the tittle, i am just using a metaphor and I am just giving my opinion (some people died for everybody to have this right lol)

I think I am nobody to judge who deserves to win or not an award and i think that i am going to shock a lot of (teenager) people but i give my opinion anyway : I honestly dont think that Zac should win an award for HSM 3, from my point of view, he will definitly not be credible if he win! I know I know HSM3 is really cute great etc etc but i think it is more about the sweet story : there was not challenging role!!
Dont get me wrong, I am not reassessing Zac's abilities to act : for example i think that he totally deserved his MTV award from last year for the character of Link, because IT WAS A CHALLENGING ROLE and he played it really well.

But come on people, when i see for example Senn Penn in Milk i am really perplexed : should Zac won for BEST MALE PERFORMANCE ?!
I will not vote for him and i think that i am doing him a favour because apart from teenager or HSM3 fan, people will really wonder (including me) : Do we still must take in consideration what the public opinion think of Zac if they think that what he did in HSM3 was fabulous ? Well, i wonder so

Tell me what you think and please, i think we are all smart people : it's not because i like what Zac does in general that i must love every project, moves, thing...that he does or says. Criticize people you care about is a proof of "love".

It's the MTV Movie awards. It's voted on by a public audience. In short, it's the ultimate popularity contest for pop culture.

I don't think that winning an MTV Movie Award would really hurt Zac's credibility. I personally don't think he really has a shot given the competition. Nor do I think Vanessa has a real shot at winning Breakout Performer. Breakout Performer is probably the ONLY award on that show that holds any kind of weight at all.

When Zac won it, that was big for him because it was for a role other than HSM and he wasn't necessarily as well known as he is now, but it really hasn't affected his career in any way shape or form; positive or negative.

You had alot of people vote to get Zac and Vanessa on for Best Kiss. They might have a shot considering they had to beat out several other contenders just to make it to the final round. Again, that's not an award that is really going to make or break someone.

Would I prefer to see him win Best Male Performance for a different, dare I say, more serious role? You betcha! But since these are for the 2008 movies, and that was the only movie Zac was in for 2008, there isn't any other choice.

I really like what you wrote! But i think that THAT IS EXACTLY THE BIG DEAL : people know him for his "phenomenon" status : handsome, hsm big in the world, idol of teenager....I think it's high time to make a end to that. I mean, it seems that now, when you heard "Zac Efron", it became a brand, you immediatly think to the beautiful-cute-6 packs-nice-everywhere..... guy, not the GREAT ACTOR.

I don't care that Zac's cute, or that he's adorable, or he's tall, he has blue eyes, and adorable shaggy brown hair. I don't care that Zac is infatuated with a project that sent him into 'Hearthrob' status. The boy has talent - it's proven, I don't care what you say. Personally, HSM was just a pathetic excuse for a movie. Bad acting, bad lines, bad everything. But that's because it's a DCOM (well not all DCOM's are bad...) HSM3 wasn't the best movie ever, I'm going to admit that too, it sucked in comparison to movies that really deserve the title.

So like he said, just because Zac's in a movie, and he's amazingly talented and gorgeous, doesn't mean that I'm going to vote for him. The movie doesn't deserve the praise.

1. Because there are far better films out there, I only loved it for Zac and that's it basically!

it's not a big deal who votes for who. this isn't the oscars, it's the MTV MOVIE AWARDS. i'm sure take no harm is taken by the nominees who don't win. they basically throw a bunch of popular guys who were in a movie and lodge them into one category. look at the kids choice awards, like nominating nickelodeon and disney stars as best female actress, it's just a popularity vote. nothing more, and it's not going to affect his career whether he loses OR wins.

But do you honestly believe that Justin Timberlake's career is doing well because he won Choice Male Hottie? I don't think so.

As for Jim Carrey and Johnny Depp and Ben Stiller winning Best Male Actor, the show has only been around since 1992. Depp had a career long before than as did Carrey. Ben Stiller's career really started to take off after There's Somethinga About Mary.

Look, I have said it once, I'll say it again; if Zac wins great, if not it's no big loss. I'm sure he takes every award happily. But if you were to ask him which he'd prefer to win: MTV Award for Best Male Actor or the Oscar for Actor in a Leading Role, I'd be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that he'd go with the Oscar. Why? Because that's a serious award based on his peers and not a popularity contest in pop culture.

Again, the only award that I think holds any kind of weight is the breakthrough performer award.

I know this goes against character for me and not espouse that every should go vote for him, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. I voted once and that is enough.
