I've seen Gimp-users asking how to keep a signature's quality when saving as a .jpg file.

First I'll show you how to save as .png. I recommend you use png on avatars/icons and possibly smaller sigs.

So you make your graphic and then click the "save as" button then name the file whatever you want and type .png next to it. then click save.

then it might say something like this and you just click save again

Heres my result:

So first make your graphic and then when your done click "save as". Then name it whatever you want and type .jpg next to it. Then it will come up to a small window called "Save as JPEG" and click on the little x that says "advanced options" next to it. Then you should change the options so it looks simliar to this.

Since zefron wants sigs less than 100 kb move the quality button so its less to 100. Try to keep it in the 90's range. Mine was at 96.1 kb.

The optimze button is option so you can choose whether to check mark it or not.

Next to subsampling click the best quality option.

Next to DCT method I put in on integer. You might be able to click on fast integer also.

Then click save.

So it should come out like this, without complete loss of quality

Note on photobucket it might look like it lost quality when its done uploading but when you view the actual image it looks fine
