got it!!!!!
5/6p+2=-23
5/6p+2-2=-23-2
5/6p=-25
5/6px6=-25x6
5p=-150
5p/5=-150/5
p=30
why would u just multiply it by the six??
say cheesee.
11-03-2008, 03:14 PM
A=1/2bh, for b
(2)A=1/2bh (2)
2A=bh
so divide bh by h
and 2A by h to get
2A/h=b
carrie.beth
11-03-2008, 03:14 PM
it is 5 divided by 6 so you multiply by 6 which makes it 5

I'm in 8th grade but i have no idea
don't we need to know what the base and height are to find
the area and volume?
i dont have to solve all those, i have to simplify.
bc u cant solved without the proper things..but still.

it is 5 divided by 6 so you multiply by 6 which makes it 5
really?
cuz i mean..she smapled some problems for us..like say ur doing:
3/4w=-24
you would switch 3/4 to 4/3 and mulsiply on both sides like this
4/3x3/4w=-24/1x4/3
w=-8x4
w=-32

cuz i mean..she smapled some problems for us..like say ur doing:
3/4w=-24
you would switch 3/4 to 4/3 and mulsiply on both sides like this
4/3x3/4w=-24/1x4/3
w=-8x4
w=-32
or you could multiply 3/4 times 4/1 so that the 4's cancel each other out.
you're basically un-doing each operation so that you can isolate the variable: W
www.webmath.com (http://www.webmath.com) check it out, it''s great.
it gives you the answers so you can check if you're doing everything right :]
