^ This is the REAL actor who Zac fictionalizes in Me and Orson Welles.
The 15-year-old kid is named Arthur Anderson who appeared in the Mercury Theatre’s 1937 production of “Julius Caesar” as Lucius, memorably photographed by Cecil Beaton (see above) singing “Orpheus with his lute” for Brutus (Orson Welles), an image which inspired novelist Robert Kaplow to write "Me and Orson Welles."
The largely fictionalized template for the character Richard Samuels, whom Zac plays in the film version of Me and Orson Welles.
I can't wait to see this recreated in the movie!
I hope there are other history buffs who find this as interesting as I do.
