I am going to show you how to make a brush from any BLACK image with a WHITE backround in PSP. it won't work without a white backround.
I have no idea if this can be done in photoshop, sorry. :(
So, these are some examples of what you can make brushes out of:

1. take any black image on a white backround and open it up in your psp.
2. make a rectangular selection around it.
3. once it is selection, click the paintbrush tool on the side of your screen (or the top, wherever you have your toolbar).
4. look when you click the button for your brush shape and you see all of the brushes you have, you'll notice at the bottom right hand corner, there is a little paintbrush with a selection around it. if you roll over it, it says "create brush tip from selection." click that.

5. then a box will come up where you have to name your brush:

once you name it, hit ok, and it will be added to your brushed the next time you go to use it.

that's it! you could use it on a color image on a white backround, but the only thing with that is when you go to use it in a different color, it will be really light until you hold the mouse down for a periodic time. if it is black, it will be dark right away.
hope it helps in the future!
if any photoshop users know how to do this in photoshop, just post here. thanks! :)
