plus, (when i started supporting the casting of him lol) by the time they actually filmed the movie, he would have been Edwards age (he's....what, 16 now? and Edward is 17)

I just think Robert does NOT have that 'irresistibly good looking' quality. lol

I had just started reading the first book when I found out about Robert and I kept picturing him as Edward from then on. He fit well for me. There is something called make-up. Just because he doesnt look that great in pictures(I personally think he looks hot but whatever) doesnt mean that's how he'll look in the movie.
Appearently the casting people saw something in Robert, they even ended their search as soon as he auditioned and Stephenie herself said that she is happy with the decision.
Casting the "perfect" Edward is impossible anyway. He's a freakin vampire for crying out loud....

im gunna assume you're a fan of Robert P., since that's why you read the book.
I read them long before that casting (way before i knew it was going to be a movie), and no one on any movie casting discussion board used his picture as an example of how they pictured edward. I'm sure the guy is talented, i've only seen him in harry potter, so i can't be sure. Maybe his acting will make up for his appearance (for me. different people have different tastes, i understand that. to me, he's not the most attractive guy...), so i'm keeping an open mind...so far

im kind of angry because, judging by an interview with Kristen, they're messing around with the plot
and in a really bad way. Running through tree tops? that's just cheezy. I'm starting to worry, to be honest.

I didnt say everyone had to be happy. I'm just sick of the whole "he's not right for Edward!" crap. People are acting like just because he's not the Edward they pictured, he's not "right".
I realize everyone has their own opinion but you really can't judge until you see the movie. The make-up comment was sarcasm.

To me, he is the "perfect" Edward. He's got the features-like someone else said..the high cheekbones and whatnot. The good-looking part is all based on opinion and I always thought he was good looking. Maybe not good looking enough to play Edward, but then again, I don't think anyone is.

Actually, I was 2 to 3 chapters into the book when I found out about Robert. I didn't really have a specific person picked out in my mind as Edward yet, but when I found out, I pictured him. Not the way he looks in pictures, but how he looks as Cedric, and I thought he fit fine.
I was not really a fan of Robert before then. I only saw him in Harry Potter, thought he was cute, but nothing more.

Just because he wasn't originally suggested doesnt mean anything, at least to me it doesnt. If he wasnt already casted, I probably would never think of him. Just because most people didnt think of him, doesnt mean he wont be good....heck, I didnt think Zac was good-looking enough to play Link in Hairspray, but I was proved wrong. (Yes, I am one of those fans that didn't actually start to be a fan until after Hairspray. I always thought he was cute but I thought of him as just another teen idol that will eventually fade.I do not feel that way now).

I don't really like the changes I'm hearing about either but I have hope yet. There's always changes in books-made-into-movies so we'll see how it works out. As long as they don't interfer with the actual story, then I don't mind.

I know this sounds hyprocritical of me becuase of my Robert rant, but I not happy at all w/ the Rosalie choice. I couldnt fathom why she was casted. She doesn't even have blonde her and her complexion is too dark. I think the fact that she's the directors step-daughter has something to do with it. I'm friends with "Edward" on myspace (I'm pretty sure it's real and run by Stephenie Meyer, as I found him on her friends list) and he listed everyone above as the official cast in a bulletin.
Plus, it's on http://www.twilightlexicon.com/ , which I think is like an offical fan club website or something. They tend to be pretty reliable from what I understand.

It sounds too good to be true, but believe it or not, the producers behind the now-filming flick are offering “Twilight” fans and vampire wannabes in the Oregon area the chance to work on the film’s set. They need extras, photo doubles and stand-ins (you could be Edward’s clone! OMG!) at an open casting call this Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at their Portland offices.

Hey guys, I thought you might enjoy a couple of pictures from my weekend on the set of Twilight the movie. It was an amazing time; I had the chance to visit some of the film sites (Oregon is gorgeous!), go through the story boards (if just scanning through the sketches is so exciting, I can only imagine how much more thrilling the live action will be), watch some brief videos of stunt work (ouch! but so cool), and even catch a little bit of a vampire baseball game (look out—James is a ringer). My favorite part was dinner with some of the cast and crew. You don't know surreal until you sit down at a table with people out of your imagination. It was more than a little bit disturbing how pretty everyone was, and who knew movie stars were so nice? Anyway, if you ever get a chance to visit the set of a movie based on a book you wrote, I definitely recommend that you go for it.

I'm like a quarter through Eclipse at the moment, and I'm loving it all. My sister got Twilight ages ago and I read a bit of it and hated it for some reason. Then I started it again not long ago and now I'm obsessed! Haha I'm glad I gave it another chance.

I finally let myself finish Eclipse so I can let myself in this thread. I didn't want to get spoiled or anything so I waited til I finished them to come in here. haha. I really stretched out my reading of Eclipse (woopee, a whole week instead of 2 days like the others) because I just didn't want it to end. I'm so impatient, I don't want to wait til August.

I have to say, I was kind of upset that they were making it a movie when I first found out. It's just one of those things that I would be content having kept as books. I was also fairly upset at the casting of Robert because I thought I'd be watching the whole time being like.. wtf is Cedric Diggory doing in Forks? But when those promo shots came out of the Cullens, I got excited. I think he looks awesome and now I'm excited for the movie. I'm still a little wary about Kristin though...

As far as the points of view go I think that she wrote the epilogue of Eclipse in Jacob's point of view just for the sake of letting us know how he was dealing. Bella wouldn't have known his emotions and when he ran and why he ran or even that Edward had sent him that invitation, you know? So I think it was just for clarity sake and that Breaking Dawn will be right back in Bella's perspective.

Glad to hear a lot of people here have finished reading Eclipse so what was everyone's fav part? Mine where all the Alice and Jasper moments there so sweet and adorable together. Especially the bit when Jasper was telling his story and how he met Alice.
I also liked when Rosalie told her story on how she got turned.... I thought it was hilarious when she was telling how she got her revenge and was like I killed like 5 people or something like that then go opps make that 7.
So whats everyones fav character? mine are Alice and Jasper I just love their relationship and how He'd do anything for her.

Ashley's Answer: I did Cut My Hair. I love it to! and The majority of the cast is taller than me so that won't be a problem. Their Making The girls wear heals and well the boys are naturally tall. And Rob Knows he's loved. : )

Ashley's Answer: Yea All of us have to read the books. It's priority. For now all we have to read is Twilight but we have all started reading new moon and many have read eclispe. I'm planning on reading them all for more charactor insight.

Ashley's Answer: Edward Deffinatly. I would consider Jake though cause i hate being cold.....

how did you get the role? did you tell them you were interested in the part or did they randomly call you up? how does that work?

I actually got called and they asked if i wanted to try out for the part and of course i said yes. So i went to an audition and they picked the top 10 girls and they narrowed it down to me!

How do you like Oregon?

Ashley's Answer: I love it! It's a little cold and rains a lot but hey that's Forks! The woods are beautiful though!

Did you go to college? If so, what did you major in? If not, did you plan in going/majoring in something before you got into acting?

Ashley's Answer: I'm thinking About Majoring in Teaching and acting. I have no idea what colledge to go to!

Umm....I'm not sure about these questions yet. We have pretty much all of it but we may drop some scenes here and there due to time but otherwise it's pretty good.

1. How does it feel to be making a movie that has practically every single teenage girl in love with the book? Do you think it's harder to be in a role with so many fans obsessed with the book and the characters?

WOW 1st page looks awesome, I think jackson looks okay as Jasper remeber in the test pics he was wearing a wig... and his already dyed his hair blonde. i first pictured Alex pettyfer as Jasper and that Rosalie suggestion looks pretty good.

I am very very happy to announce that I will be working on the film called TWILIGHT. Many of you have been asking what role I will be playing. I think it would be best for me to wait for SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT to release the role first. I am hoping they will do so soon. Once they do then I can comment more. So please be patient...but I can't wait. I am very excited to play this character in such an amazing book series by Stephanie Meyer.
On another topic...I just turned sixteen and got my drivers license..yayyyy!! Track just started so I have been running a lot.

Another fan from TWILIGHT MOMS recently visited the set of Twilight and had some snippets to share:

I got news for you!!!! They aren’t that great, but just a little something to fill you guys in. OK.. So my friend Courtney, she went to Portland to visit her parents this past weekend and she just got back today. So, while she was on her way back to Seattle today, she had to take a detour to run some errands, and while she was on her way, she told me that there was this huge fuzz going on, there were a lot of cars, a lot of security everywhere etc. etc. So she was like ‘What’s going on?’ so she decides to ask the police officer, and he told her that there was the production of a movie called Twilight. So, she knows I am a big fan, she got all excited, and asked him if they started to film it already, and the police officer told her, ‘Apparently, they are starting to film right now.’ So then he tells her that he couldn’t give any more info. at the moment and asked her to leave, so she decides to go around the area slowly, just to check it out, and she told me that she saw Kirsten and Robert TOGETHER, she couldn’t tell if they were filming or not, she thought it looked more like ‘normal talking’ and that Robert was looking absolutely gorgeous, and that he and Kirsten looked GREAT together! So, right after that she left because she didn’t want to get in trouble, since the police officer had already asked her to leave. I asked her if she took any pictures, but she told me she didn’t since she didn’t have her camera with her nor her cellphone with her.
