OMG, I have so much to say but first I have to get this off my chest.

I was watching School for Scoundrels (good movie btw, imo), and in one of the scenes, Jon Heder's character (Roger) is on the phone and his tv is on in the background. I caught a quick glimpse of the tv and thought one of the scenes looked familiar so I rewound it and it turned out to be a scene from SYTYCD! I was so excited, I had to rewind it about 3 or 4 times to actually catch what Roger was saying because I was so excited.

It showed Brian Friedman and then it cut to Nick and Melody in their paso doble outfits. Oh man, I wanted to scream. I know, that's slightly sad but I was so stoked!

i actually loved his solos. i'm really into the justin timberlake, smooth hiphop though,
so ofcourse i loved it. but his tour solo blew me away. i was like O_O. the week after
alli was eliminated he sucked. but he was given a corny contemporary and a jive, which
i thought they did fine with the jive. it's actually one of my guilty pleasures.

i'm not sure if i even want to go to the tour this year. :[

Actually, I have to contradict myself a bit and agree. I totally forgot about the Jive and how bogus it was that they said they weren't having fun. I didn't see as much chemistry but it was still entertaining to me.

Besides my mom, I have no friends that watch the show. I used to have a class with a girl who was really excited for it to start up again this season but I don't think she is as hardcore as I am because she didn't have the date it was starting right. Plus, I have not heard back from her since and we never talked about it so... yeah.

I am totally going on tour this year. If Hok and Jamie make it to Top 10, there is no doubt in my mind they'd do their Jazz and I would love to see it live. And Sabra and Dom's contemp, oh! And Lacey and Kam's contemp. Oh, and I want to see Pasha! I hope they all make it.

We both loved Benji, we were both amazingly pxssed Allison got the boot (of course, who wasn't?), we both wanted Ivan gone until we saw how amazing he was with Allison but then still weren't huge fans of his solos, and we both thought that Dmitry and he shirts were overated until we saw him on tour and we were both like, "Oh, that doesn't translate as well on tv. Much better live. ;) :p". The only one we disagreed on was Donyelle. I didn't really like her but my mom adored her.

This year is a little fuzzy. I know Hok is her favorite though. And she always has a sigh of relief when Lacey and Kam are safe. Oh, she really liked Jesus and Faina. She was really sad when they got the boot. She was so pxssed when Cedric was safe. We were both yelling at the tv like, "WTF! Are you fxxkin kidding me!? What the fxxk is this!" And my dad is just like, "Oh come on!" And left the room. lol I love my family.

Me and my mom always have the same taste in contestants, every show from AI to SYTYCD. Its like we always have the same opinion, its kinda scary actually, lol, we share the same brain. My dad on the other hand thinks all of them suck, me and my mom are always like "well why do you even watch? you hate them all."lol. Last week he said "i thought this was sytycd? so why can't any of them dance". we were like "are you kidding me?" My dad doesn't like her either. She sort of puts me off too and I wasn't (and still am not) really quite sure. She seems to have this porcelin quality. When she isn't dancing, she looks like she seems very fragile and it scares me or something. I didn't mean that to come out sounding rude or anything and I'm really not sure if that's what it is, but that's just something I noticed. All that aside though, brilliant dancer, no doubt about it.

1. Lacey + Kameron - Hustle
They kicked of the show with a bang. At first, everyone was confused what they were going to do but it was good and the judges liked it as well. Adam thought they were sexy and did a good job pulling it off. Mary loved how they did such a good job handling all the partnering that was involved. Nigel said that Kameron could still step up his game a little bit because his technique was all right. He said that Lacey was technically much better than her brother Benji. haha. Overall, they did a good job.

2. Shauna + Cedric - Mambo
Choreographed by Alex Da Silva. In the intro clip Alex said that he normally brings 1 assistant, but this time he brought 2 because he heard that he would be working with Cedric. Ouch. http://images.idolforums.com/style_emoticons/idf/haha.gif Anyways, it wasn't bad or good. The judges felt that Shauna did an excellent job and that Cedric was holding her back, especially during the partnering parts. I know that once Mary saw that Cedric was safe last week, she wanted to try another one this week to get Cedric in the bottom 3. She listed each one of his performances and said each one was not good enough. Then, when she got to this week she said she wanted him to stay. I definitely think it was reverse psychology. She even said she got an email from a toy store owner who would fly Cedric off to San Fransisco to show him how to start his own toy business since he was interested in toys. It seems like they are trying to get him as fas away from the show as possible. Nigel thought they did well while mentioning that Cedric could have done better.

3. Anya + Danny - Contemporary
They did a really nice job together. Anya reminded me of Heidi doing the contemporary last season. It was choreographed by Tyce Diorio. They were dressed in black and it was a love story between a man and a woman. Let me just say there was a lot of controversy that came from the judging panel which may or may not air the actual show. First, Adam started off saying that Danny was the most beautiful male dancer on the show. He though that Anya did a good job as well, but there was a bit of a disconnect between them. He said that when Danny dances he acts like he is dancing and is removing raw emotion from the performance. Mary said something all the same lines, but added that since Danny is doing so many difficult leaps that it can be hard to get into character. Nigel said that they were good. He thought Anya brought a lot of emotion. He said that Danny lacked a certain X-factor that would make people pick up the phone and vote. He just needs to discover what that thing is that he is lacking. Then, Adam interrupts and says that Danny acts like he has already one the competition and he has a certain arrogance to him. Anya quickly comes to his defense and says she doesn't sense that he is arrogant. Nigel then says what Adam is saying is "crap" and that he is just lacking a certain magic and is not arrogant.

RUH-ROH. I just lost alot of disrespect for Adam. and ALOT of respect for Nigel.
i'm sorry, i love adam, but you can't come onto a show and disrespect the dancers
that you don't know personally, and disagree with the people who do. it's just not
how the game works.


4. Sarah + Pasha - West Coast Swing
They really surprised me! It was really, really good. Choreographed by Benji S. from last season. Adam thought it was full of energy and was proud of Sarah for pulling of something that she has barely done before. Mary loved the routine and the fact that Sarah and Pasha had a lot of chemistry after only 5 1/2 hours of partnering. After the Danny/Anya routine in which Nigel said that Danny was technically brilliant and lacked the x factor, he said that this performance had the magic he was looking for.

5. Sabra + Dominic - Hip-hop
It was one of those slow hip-hop numbers choreographed by Shane Sparks. Similar to Allison/Ivan with the umbrellas. Except this time they used chairs. They have such a tight chemistry together and it really shows. The judges really liked it. Adam thought they did a good job connecting with each other. He thought this routine showed that hip-hop can be more that just fast movement without meaning and like that they told a story. Mary also loved them together and their growing chemistry. Nigel thought they did a great job together and that it would be very difficult to send someone home this week. They were great together.

6. Jaimie + Hok - Waltz
It was a really sweet routine. Unfortunately, compared to the comments that everyone else got, their feedback was not so good. Adam said that Jaimie had wonder Wonderful lines and she did a great job. Adam empathized with Hok because he could tell he was out of his element. Mary said that they did a good job with the choreography but there was little waltz actually going on in the routine (about only 4 or 6 bars). Nigel agreed that they did well with what they were given, but it did not have the rise and fall expected of a typical waltz, possibly because of Hok's experience in hip-hop. Overall, their feedback was ok, but I thought they still did a good job.

7. Lauren + Neil - Jazz
I know you Laureil fans are freaking out, right now. Lemme tell you they were amazing! It was choreographed by Wade Robson so you know it was bound to be awesome. It was a devil/angel sort of thing. Lauren was the angel and Neil was the devil. The judges loved it. Adam (choreographer from hairspray) though they did a really good job of acting the roles as well as dancing. Mary didn't know if they could pull it off but once she saw it she loved it. Nigel though it was excellent as well.

Lacey and Cameron- NY Style Hustle - I liked this, i did think that Kameron was again kind of a prop in this one and i still think Lacey outdances him, the dancing was good though. Not their best but still a solid performance. I wanna see them do hip hop next week.



Shauna and Cedric- Mambo - I don't think there is anything that Shauna cant do. I gotta give it up for Cedric because you could tell he really really tried, saying that i still think it sucked, lol, sooorry. My mom actually said she was embarrassed for him and i asked her why she said that. She told me she thinks its awful to constantly tell him every week how poor of a dancer he is and then vote to keep him around, its kind of cruel (my moms words not mine, but i do get her point). I agree with Kristen the use of reverse psychology was like blatantly obvious, lol.


Anya and Danny- Contemporary - Loved it, i thought it was beautiful. Anya really surprised me cause i wasn't expecting her to be good in contemporary but she was great, Danny was beautiful as usual. I disagree with nigel saying danny doesn't have the x-factor, i couldn't take my eyes off of him (and not just cause i have a thang for him, lol). Kristen, i'll let you have Wade if you let me have Tyce, lol cause i get majorly fangirly when he's on, my moms all "down girl" when he comes on, lol.


Sara and Pasha-West Coast Swing - Great choreography by Benji, and thats saying alot for me to admit that cause i don't like benji at all, lol. the performance was great. Now if we can start a petition to get Trivan on there to choreograph that would be amazing. anyways, i think sara and pasha make a great couple.


Sabra and Dominic-HipHop - I thought this was one of the weaker performances tonight. I blame the choreography on this one though, i think sabra and dom danced it well i was just really bored by the choreography, nigel please quit refering to season 2 dances cause this one just doesn't come close.


Jamie and Hok-Waltz - can i just say i love Jaimie. she was this number, agree with the judges that her lines and extensions were beautiful. The part about her crush on Hok was cute. Hok was not good here, i think


Lauren and Neal-Jazz - And Lauriel gets the pimp spot, lol. Waaaaaaa!! lol, they get a mary scream from me on this one. loved it loved it loved it. The first time i have loved a Lauriel performance, i think they both killed it. Wade is a friggin genius.




Best to Worst IMO - this is just based on what i enjoyed not technique or judges comments (cause i don't base my opinions on their opinions in fact i disagree with them a majority of the time :) ).

I pretty much agree with what most of kristen and ami said. So here is my 2 cents as well, or whatever it's worth:

Lacey & Kameron (Hustle): I really liked this but like what kristen said, it was forgetable. I could remember that they danced but I had a hard time remembering what dance they did. But while watching it, I did enjoy it. I don't agree with Nigel that Lacey's performance is necessarily greater than Benji's, I just think it is really great in it's own way. Different personalities performing in slightly different ways. But I do agree that she is amazing.

Shauna & Cedric (Mambo): I actually really did not like this. Cedric did well considering he had never done it before and that he was really working his tush off, but other than that, he is not at the same level as the other dancers in this competition. I'm glad that he did do better because then it is not oh so bad that he is still here. But really, he has overstayed his welcome. I think the judges gave Shauna too much credit. I was glad that Mary brought up her turns slowing down though because that's really how I felt about the whole routine. It was very hesitant and not as fast as I would expect or have seen the Mambo to be in past seasons. I couldn't help but think of Ryan and Melissa 1st season and how amazing theirs was and they were pretty much the same styles as Shauna and Cedric (only imo, Ryan is way better than Cedric, but that's just an opinion).

Anya & Danny (Contemporary): It was good but it did not blow me away. I thought Anya did amazing and I could definitely see a little bit of her ballroom style in it, especially when she reached her arms out, but it worked. She was beautiful. As was Danny, his legs are fantabulous. Wherever he got those, I want a pair. When he dances, it's like he is just lighter than air, I half expect him to just jump up and just start floating and not come back down. Even though they were amazing, the choreography didn't really amaze, as much as I love Tyce.

Sara & Pasha (West Coast Swing): Holy shxxt. Oh Benji, my love. His routine was the shxxt. No contest, best routine of the night. Sara really surprised me. I already knew she was going to do well because my mom told me when she watched it earlier that Benji's routine was "two thumbs up holy fxxk amazing." But really, I was worried about how Pasha and Sara were going to get along and they were sensational together. It didn't even cross my mind that they had different partners last week they partnered so well. And Benji was adorable and hilarious. And I'm not saying that because he was my fav last year and I pretty much have to, :p I love that guy and I'm with kristen, bring him and Heidi back more.

Sabra & Dominic (Hip-Hop): It was very passionate and I could feel the emotion. I thought it was going to be a little dull but it was really pretty good. If they didn't have that connection, then the routine would've went down the toilet, obviously. Usually I'm used to seeing hip-hop move around all over the stage and take up more room but this one stayed in place really most of the time and I think that was a nice choice, especially for the meaning of the song. I thought it was funny when Nigel mentioned Alisson and Ivan last year because when I saw Shane was going to choreograph, I thought, "Oh, he did Ivison's S exy Love number, I bet he wouldn't do anything like that." Although it was a slower one like last year's and it was great, it was not as amazing as Ivison's.

Jaimie & Hok (Waltz): May I first apologize for spelling Jaimie's name wrong pretty much this entire time. I totally didn't realize it there was another 'i' in there before the 'm.' It probably isn't a huge deal but I know it bugs some people when they see their fav celeb's name spelt wrong or whatnot. Plus, I don't like getting them wrong either. So with that said... I thought this waltz was actually pretty beautiful, ignoring the technique. The story line was touching although I didn't get too much of a sense for it when I watched it the first time, but even so, with that song choice (which is an amazing song, holy poo), I liked it a little. I do agree that it was not a great pick for Hok but I think he did well considering it's not his area. I know I said that about Cedric and gave him more negative notes but hey, I like Hok. Of course I'm going to be mor epositive about him. Jaimie was gorgeous.

Lauren & Neil (Jazz): Agreed with the fact that Wade is a freakin genius. Ignoring the fact that with each passing episode, I can stand Lauren less and less, this dance was really great! Neil was hot! This is the first time I've really enjoyed Neil I think. He really played that character well. And his dancing was fabulous. I didn't watch Lauren much but what I saw of her was actually pretty good too. I only wish that at the end, Neil would have won instead. ;)

Prediction:
I think the bottom three will be Jaimie & Hok (eek!), Shauna & Cedric (at least they had better be) and Anya & Danny. It's really hard to say. Each week it gets closer and closer. The ones leaving should be Cedric & Lauren (if she makes it to bottom 3) or Shauna. Otherwise, if Cedric does not make bottom 3, I am terrified for the other guys, especially Hok and Pasha but really all of them.

It probably isn't a huge deal but I know it bugs some people when they see their fav celeb's name spelt wrong or whatnot. Plus, I don't like getting them wrong either.

i agree, i was the same way, i couldn't for the life of me understand why the judges played her up as the golden child or something and week after week they have both dissapointed me.
But i give props to both of them for this routine cause not only did they dance it well but they played the characters well.
Their rehersal videos annoy the hell out of me though, idk maybe its just me. I mean come on, her asian alter ego "Mischa?". my best friend is asian and she was like "wtf! did she really just say that, how dumb can you get, lol"

Aw, you never really bit my head off. I don't remember you biting my head off at all actually. It was totally understandable. :)

And I so agree with Benji > Alex. I was psyched to see Alex back, but dxmn. After seeing Benji's choreography, I forgot about Alex. It's hard to compare too much since it is salsa/mambo against swing, but still, both ballroom. I think if Alex would have had a different couple, it would have been better, but imo, Benji's was more entertaining either way. I am just so thankful that Benji got the couple he did. If he would have had Cedric and Shauna, oh man, that would have blown.

I agree. Lauren really needs the boot. I think she is the reason I am not as big of a fan of Neil as I could be. I mean, as a soloist, he's fantastic. That's kinda how Travis was for me last year, I don't think I liked him as much in the beginning because I didn't like Martha. I know, that isn't fair but I think it's true. If Lauren and Cedric leave and leave Shauna with Neil, that'd be fine with me. I'd love to see them do contemporary together, even though Shauna's already done contemp (although it shouldn't count since it was with Cedric).
