Olympic 2010 Opening Ceremonies?

okay so i'm canadian, and i was really excited for the opening ceremonies for the olympics this year.
and i honestly didn't think it was that good. :/
it was kinda boring, and they made everything so LONG. like all the dances and stuff, i was just like, can we get a move on here?
like it wasnt terrible, and i thought the whales were pretty sick, and the dances were pretty cool, until they passed the 5 minute mark.

i do like the fact that wayne gretzky carried the torch at the end though. stayed up past midnight to see that.

anyways, anyone else's thoughts on the opening ceremonies?

but i watched the whole cerimony of the olympic games in Beijing.
now that was long O.O

I haven't see it either but nothing can compare to the Beijing opening ceremony. That was long but amazing.

I love how they dedicated the ceremony to that georgian athlete.

It was amazing. A little longer than I expected, I agree, but it still was amazing.

The first part was gorgeous and done amazingly. I was totally into it. haha.

The boy who "flew through a field of wheat" was pretty good.

And wow, the moment of silence for Nodar. The silence was DEAFENING. really.

It's nuts. I literally live like maybe not even an hour from Vancouver.....across the border into Washington STATE though :p
Gotta say this isn't about the ceremonies, but I am loving me some J.R Celski. Same age as me and grew up in a town only 1.5 hrs from me.

I just thought it was funny watching those people in head-to-toe white dancing along the sides when the teams came in were kind funny. some of them were getting really into it.

i missed them because i was out seeing a movie.
but like someone else said, i can't imagine anything comparing to the opening of the games in beijing. those were amazinggg. really long, but totally worth it.
