I'm really not liking the placement of this film if that date is to stick. That's smack dab in the middle of the "summer blockbuster" releases. I see it competing with A-Team and Toy Story 3. These kinds of films never do well in the summer months. Best it could hope for at that time would be either a #4 or #5 opening slot, not what this film deserves.

I'd rather see it sit on the shelf until late August or early-to-mid September when it might have aa better opening weekend.

Exactly. And if it were to come out on June 23 and somehow manages to snag that #1 title, then it'll quickly be bumped down to who knows what spot by the third twilight movie the following week. Not a good timing.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there.
There's really no placements where more movies do worse or better. If the people want to see CSC, they will, regardless of the release. If they choose to watch Toy Story 3 or whatever else it may be, then they weren't anxious for it.

However, I will partly agree because by this time, teens will be saving their money to watch The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on June 30, 2010.

Universal pictures France give a release date for France : 23 june 2010:D

It's good, with "beastly" in July it's two good movie in summer 2010...

wow, i didn't expect it. we already "know" the release date.
i hope it won't come out untill september here in italy, because nobody goes to the cinema in august here.
