Channing Tatum and Zac Efron are about to find out if they can handle nature Bear Grylls-style.

NBC has ordered a series starring celebrity survivalist Grylls, which will feature Grylls taking celebrities such as Efron, Tatum and Ben Stiller to remote wild locations for a 48-hour journey.

The one-hour series, “Running Wild With Bear Grylls,” will also include episodes featuring Deion Sanders, Tom Arnold and Tamron Hall.

“Each of the celebrities endure the harsh wilderness in high-octane, action-based and empowering journeys spread over six remote locations,” NBC said of the new offering, which Grylls created. “From skydiving into the Catskill Mountains, to repelling down the cliffs of Utah and battling torrential wind and rain in Scotland, Grylls and each celebrity will have to push both their minds and bodies to the limit to successfully complete their journey.”

“Ultimately, this show is about taking these stars on the adventure of a lifetime and being alongside them when they discover something new and empowering about themselves and their world. For me, that is always a privilege,” added Grylls, who recently starred in “Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls” for NBC.

“Running Wild With Bear Grylls” will premiere July 28.

Sorry, Spidey. A raunchy fraternity just threw a bong through your web. The No. 1 movie in the United States and Canada over the weekend was “Neighbors,” an R-rated comedy that rode strong reviews and a well-oiled marketing campaign to an astounding $51.1 million in ticket sales, trampling “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

“Neighbors” (Universal Pictures), which cost just $18 million to make and had been expected take in roughly $35 million, likely benefited from pent-up demand for crude laughs. The major studios have not released an original R-rated comedy since last August. Starring Seth Rogan, Rose Byrne and Zac Effron and recalling the 1980s-era “Revenge of the Nerds” movies, “Neighbors” also exploited what has been an overlooked corner of studio filmmaking in recent years: the fraternity picture.

“Spider-Man” (Sony) fell a steep 59 percent in its second weekend, taking in an estimated $37.2 million, for a two-week domestic total of $147.9 million — by far the lowest 14-day North American total in the webslinger’s five-film history. The superhero has also typically repeated as No. 1 in its second weekend. “Spider-Man,” which cost at least $250 million to make, not including marketing, has now taken in about $550 million worldwide, a total Sony described as “exceeding our goals.” Third place went to “The Other Woman” (20th Century Fox), which generated $9.3 million in ticket sales, for a three-week total of $61.7 million.

Also of note: “Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return” (Clarius Entertainment), a poorly reviewed animated musical that cost a reported $70 million to make, bombed badly, taking in $3.7 million

The years since “High School Musical” have been hard on the former child star, replete with hits (“Hairspray”), misses (“Charlie St. Cloud”) and substance abuse. Now, with “Neighbors,” he’s working on his life as an adult: “I needed to learn everything I did.”

Zac Efron leans back, lost in thought.

“No matter who you are, you face challenges growing up,” he says. “You go with your things, you learn, you have to. It’s impossible to lead an honest and fulfilling life as a man and not make mistakes and ‘fess up to them when you need to. But it’s especially humiliating when they happen to be so public and so scrutinized.”

He pauses. “When you have success young, and you accept the good things, you have to accept all of it. You have to accept the moments of glory but also a great responsibility. And that responsibility, to some degree, involves being a role model. At the same time, I’m a human being, and I’ve made a lot of mistakes. I’ve learned from each one.”

Zac Efron met up with a very special fan during his recent stop at Facebook headquarters.

In fact, the 26-year-old actor was so touched that he took to social media to write Kirby Koo a sweet message about how their meeting impacted him.

“Kirby, I have so much more I want to say. And I will – when I find the words,” Zac wrote. “But I’ll start here – When you stood up, with such strength, and sincerity and gave me perhaps the nicest compliment I’ve been paid…it meant so much more than that to me. Facebook and online media in general, show only half the picture- sure people see me, but I never get to see them.”

He continued, “Yesterday was the first time in a very long time that I was able to look into your eyes and remember why I do what I do- and will never stop. I needed that, more than you will ever know and just wanted to say thanks- face to face soon I hope.”

You won’t be seeing Zac Efron smile for awhile.

E! News has exclusively learned that the actor’s mouth is wired shut after he broke his jaw over the weekend. Efron slipped at the entrance of his L.A.-area home on Sunday in a puddle of water he didn’t see.

He not only broke his jaw when he fell, but he also suffered a gash that required stitches.

Efron is expected to make a full recovery.

In the meantime, upcoming plans to promote his new comedy That Awkward Moment have been put on hold. Also starring Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, the movie follows a group of young guys who vow to stay single. It’s set for release in January.

Just last week, Efron attended a Vanity Fair event in West Hollywood honoring Jordan.

Later in the year, Efron will be seen in Neighbors, an Animal House-like flick in which he plays a rowdy frat boy opposite Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.

He later hit Chateau Marmont for a celebration with his younger brother, Dylan.

Get well soon, Zac!

It’s not really a surprise that the Kennedy Assassination continues to hold so much sway some half century after its occurrence. A young, charismatic President cut off in his prime, a picture-perfect doting wife, and all the mystery and machinations surrounding his death have made for generations of responses to the events of November 22, 1963. This was the death of a president caught in images whose tragedy played out on television, the first modern death of a leader that would quickly take on mythic proportions.

What may be more remarkable is that there are still new things to say at this late date, new and interesting things to draw not just documentary but narrative film interest in. If Stone’s JFK is likely to remain definitive, for better or worse, then films like Parkland fill a welcome (if not exactly mandatory) niche.

The film is episodic in its construction, following the many lives that were shaped due to the events in Dallas. Parkland Memorial is the hospital where the President was taken after having much of his cranium obliterated, and we see the way that those in charge of traumatic medical situations dealt with things as they occurred. We also meet the FBI agents that had been tracking Oswald prior to the assassination, the man who shot the famous 8mm film of the events, and perhaps most interestingly we follow the events that occupied the brother of the alleged assassin.

With a cast that includes a veritable constellation of talent, from Zac Effron and Paul Giamatti to Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Bill Bob Thornton and Jackie Earle Haley, we’re exposed to these various timelines in crosscut fashion. All do the work justice, and save for some brief moments do so with credible restraint.
