Zac Efron Biography
Born in San Luis Obispo, California, and raised close by in Arroyo Grande, Zac Efron took his first step toward acting at the age of 11 when his parents took note of his singing ability. Singing lessons soon led to an appearance in the production of “Gypsy” which ran 90 performances, and he was hooked. After appearing on stage in “Peter Pan,” “Mame,” “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Music Man,” guest parts quickly followed on television series, including “Firefly,” “ER” and “The Guardian.” After guest-starring in several episodes of “Summerland,” he joined the regular cast as girl-crazy Cameron Bale. Efron also starred in several pilots such as “The Big, Wide World of Carl Laemke” and “Triple Play.”


Zac then went on to star as an autistic child in the television movie “Miracle Run,” alongside Mary-Louise Parker and Aidan Quinn, in the Disney Channel Original Movie “High School Musical”, and guest starred on the hit Disney Channel show “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody”. Zac starred in an independent film titled “The Derby Stallion” and he reprised his role as Troy Bolton in the Disney “High School Musical” series of films which were a worldwide phenomenon, rising Zac to celebrity status. Among other projects, Zac starred in “Hairspray” in 2007 with John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Christopher Walken, landed a role in the independent film “Me and Orson Welles” in 2008, and starred in “17 Again” with Matthew Perry and Leslie Mann.

Zac was to star in a remake of the 1984 hit “Footloose” in 2009 before dropping out of this project to play the lead role of Charlie in “Charlie St. Cloud”. In October 2010 Zac relocated to Louisiana to film the lead role of Logan in the upcoming film “The Lucky One”, based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. Zac now has his own production company under Warner Bros. called Ninjas Runnin’ Wild Prods. and is set to star in and produce many upcoming movies from Warner Bros.

Zac currently resides in the state of California. His favorite sports include golf, skiing, rock climbing, surfing, and snowboarding. Repairing cars is one of Zac’s past times, and he worked on a Delorean and ’65 Mustang convertible, both treasured hand-me-downs from his even-more-treasured grandfather. Zac’s most prized possession is his autographed baseball collection. Like his favorite actors and idols Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Johnny Depp, Zac looks and hopes to have a long, successful career ahead of him!
