WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS is a fresh, vivid coming of age drama about what it takes to find your voice. It follows a close-knit group of friends in LA, including Zac Efron’s character Cole, an aspiring young DJ who is trying to make it on the electronic music scene.
Named after Justice’s seminal electronic anthem, and featuring a cutting-edge soundtrack including music from Alesso, WE ARE YOUR FRIENDS is the must-see hit of the summer, set for UK release on August 28th.
Congratulations to Zac for taking home the awards for Best Shirtless Performance and Best Duo with co-star Dave Franco for Neighbors at last night’s 2015 MTV Movie Awards! Check out photos of Zac attending the show in the gallery.
Anna Kendrick is set to join Zac Efron and Adam DeVine in the 20th Century Fox comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.”

Universal is moving forward with a follow-up to its hugely successful comedy from last summer that will reunite all of the major principals including stars Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne as well as director Nicholas Stoller. Neighbors, which cost just $18 million to make, earned $268 million worldwide. The studio will give the film a wide release May 13, 2016.
Penned by Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, the first Neighbors revolved around a couple (Rogen, Byrne) with a new baby who are forced to live next to a fraternity house and do whatever they can to take it down. Cohen and O’Brien are back for the sequel, which will have a female twist. This time a sorority moves in next door to the couple, who enlist their former nemeses from the fraternity to help battle the raucous sisters.
Universal is prepping the sequel for a summer shoot.
Zac Efron has been cast in new comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. The 27-year-old actor will star as one of two brothers who post an online ad to find wedding dates. Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien penned the script, with Jake Szymanski as director and Peter Chernin, David Ready and Jenno Topping as producers.

Efron previously collaborated with Cohen and O’Brien on Neighbors, with Cohen as executive producer and O’Brien as writer. The actor will star with Emily Ratajkowski in We Are Your Friends, and is also scheduled for Dirty Grandpa with Aubrey Plaza and Robert De Niro.
Zac Efron and the rest of the “Dirty Grandpa” cast were spotted in Atlanta earlier yesterday filming a funeral scene.
Efron, Julianne Hough, Robert De Niro and Dermot Mulroney were seen walking to and from basecamp into a church.
Aubrey Plaza was just roped in to play the leading lady in the comedy film and will play a party girl who is hoping to make the most out of her Spring Break.
“Dirty Grandpa” is directed by DanMazer and written by John Phillips and is currently set to release on Aug. 12, 2016.
The film is about Jason (Efron), an uptight fellow who is tricked to go on a roadtrip to Florida for spring break ahead of his wedding. His grandfather (De Niro) is a foul-mouthed former Army general who, thinks Jason is marrying the wrong woman and joins him on the adventure and we can only imagine what goes on from there. He loses focus of his lost wife and is looking to have sex during Spring Break.
“Vampire Academy’s” Zoey Deutch landed a role opposite of Efron as his love interest named Shadia, an earthy environmental advocate.
Efron recently posted an announcement on Instagram about the new movie with a picture collage of himself, De Niro and Deutch.
The caption read, “#ZacEfron is hitting the streets – with #RoberDeNiro as his #DirtyGrandpa! In the road trip comedy, which hits theaters in August 2016, Zac plays Jason, as an uptight groom-to-be on the way to Florida for spring break with his foul-mouthed Army-veteran grandfather in tow. ‘Vampire Academy’s’ @ZoeyDeutch has also signed on to play Jason’s love interest. Who’se excited?! – #TeamZE.”

‘After “High School Musical,” it looked like Efron might join the ranks of child actors who peaked early. But Efron has reinvented himself as a comedy star with this year’s “Neighbors” which grossed $268 million. Efron is also producing his own films like last year’s “That Awkward Moment.”‘
Zac Efron and Robert De Niro are attached to star in “Driving Dick Kelly,” an adult comedy formerly known as “Dirty Grandpa” that Dan Mazer will direct for Bill Block‘s QED International, TheWrap has learned.
Barry Josephson is producing the project, which was previously set up at Universal and is now being shopped to other studios.
John Phillips wrote the script, which follows a lascivious, recently widowed Army veteran (De Niro) who tricks his uptight grandson (Efron) into escorting him to Florida for spring break.
