Zac to Receive Shining Star Award at Maui Film Festival
It’s just been announced that Mr. Zac will receive the Shining Star Award at next month’s Maui Film Festival. Previous recipients include Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel.
Efron, who will next be seen in the romantic drama Charlie St. Cloud, will be honored during opening night festivities on June 16th at the Celestial Cinema.

They have to make their case in 250 words or less saying why they are worthy of working side-by-side and behind-the-scenes with MTV’s News correspondents.
Once selected, the Movie Award Insider will join the MTV News team in L.A and receive guidance and mentorship on how to capture exclusive behind-the-scenes content- what an amazing opportunity for the winner! The Insider will get to cover the following:
- What’s going on in days leading up to the awards
- Interviews with show nominees, presenters, and MTV talent (including Zac!)

Career Gear, a nonprofit that assists disadvantaged men find and retain employment, has received ties from such famous necks as Zac Efron, Steve Carell and Zach Galifianakis to auction off this June to raise much-needed funds. In this time of economic uncertainty, these men have all recognized the pressing need to help those who are unemployed but ready to turn their lives around.
